What we do
A Walimah order starts with guests and a menu, not with an animal. Tell us how many people you are feeding and how the food will be served, and the rest follows: quantity as an approximate range, then the cutting that the cooking method actually needs. Mandi, ouzi and mansaf take large bone-in pieces and whole sections. A buffet with rice, sides and a second protein uses noticeably less meat per guest. Grills need even portions above everything else, because uneven pieces cook unevenly no matter who is at the fire. Take-home portions for guests are a different job again and are bagged individually. We slaughter on the Islamic method, cut and weigh in front of the camera, label everything, and time the delivery to the kitchen's prep hour rather than to the start of the party — a chef who receives meat two hours before service is the most common reason a Walimah runs late. For engagements and smaller gatherings the same service runs at a smaller size, down to a single sheep.
How it works
- Tell us the date, the venue area and the number of guests.
- Describe how the food is served — mandi, buffet, grills, or take-home portions.
- We suggest an approximate quantity and a cutting plan for that menu.
- Slaughter is carried out on the Islamic method and filmed.
- Meat is cut, weighed, labelled and chilled.
- Delivery is timed to your kitchen's prep hour, not the party start.
How many sheep for your guest count
The honest answer is a range, not a number, because serving style changes the arithmetic more than the guest count does. As approximate planning figures: a mandi or ouzi service covers roughly 15–25 guests per sheep, a buffet with rice and sides roughly 25–40, grills roughly 20–30, and individually bagged take-home portions roughly 8–12. These are planning placeholders to start the conversation, always approximate, and we revise them against your actual menu before you book anything.
Cutting for the dish
Cutting is where a Walimah is won or lost. For mandi and ouzi we leave large bone-in sections and keep the shoulders and legs intact. For fattah we cut the pieces that hold up to long boiling and keep bones in for the broth. For grills we portion chops, ribs and cubes to an even size and separate fat trim. For kofta and hawawshi we mince to the ratio you ask for rather than a default. Tell us the dish, not just the weight, and the bags arrive matching the recipe.
The Sunnah of the Walimah
The Walimah is the wedding feast and a Sunnah. The Prophet, peace be upon him, told Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf to hold a Walimah even with a single sheep, as recorded by Bukhari and Muslim — which is why a modest feast is a complete one. Scholars who discuss it also warn against extravagance and encourage including the needy among those fed. Many families in Cairo now set aside one share of the Walimah animal for exactly that, and we deliver it separately on their instruction.
Venues, timing and the kitchen
Hotel and hall kitchens usually want the meat delivered to a service entrance with a named contact, and they want it at prep time. Home gatherings in compounds want it earlier, in portions that fit a domestic fridge. Outdoor and farm-style parties often want whole animals for a spit and nothing cut at all. Tell us which of the three you are running and who will physically receive the delivery — a named receiver with a phone answered on the day is worth more than any written instruction.
Fresh from the farm
Video from the farm is shared with every order: the animal before slaughter, the slaughter itself if you want it, and the weighing of each cut.

Frequently asked questions
How many sheep do I need for 100 guests?
As an approximate range it depends on service style: a mandi-style service needs more animals per guest than a buffet with sides. Tell us the menu and we will give a planning range before you commit, then adjust it with your chef.
Can you deliver to a hotel or hall?
Yes. We deliver to the service entrance at the prep time the kitchen asks for, with a named receiver. Hotels normally require that, and it avoids meat waiting at a reception desk.
Can I order one sheep only?
Yes. A single sheep is a complete Walimah in the Sunnah and a very common order for engagements and small family gatherings. There is no minimum number of animals for this service.
Do you supply whole animals for a spit?
Yes, whole and undivided, cleaned and ready for the spit, with head and offal kept aside or excluded as you prefer. Say so at booking because it changes how we prepare the carcass.
What is the price of a Walimah sheep?
It follows the animal and its weight, so the live price table in the order flow is the accurate answer rather than a figure written into a page. Message us with your date and guest count for a full quote.
How far ahead should a wedding order be placed?
As early as the date is fixed. Wedding dates cluster on Thursdays and weekends, and those slots fill first, especially in the eastern Cairo districts where most of our evening deliveries go.
Can guests take portions home?
Yes — we bag individual take-home portions separately from the cooking meat and label them. Tell us how many portions you want and we plan the cutting around that from the start.
Do you cut for mandi and ouzi specifically?
Yes, and the two are cut differently. Mandi keeps large bone-in sections for the pit; ouzi needs pieces that sit in rice without drying. Name the dish and the cutting follows it.
