What we do
An Aqiqah is a date with a newborn attached to it, and the whole service is organised around that date. When you order you give the baby's name, whether the baby is a boy or a girl, the date of birth and the slaughter date you want — most families choose the seventh day, and the order flow works out that day for you. From there we reserve a suitable animal, confirm the hour of slaughter, and prepare the meat so it reaches you on the same day it was prepared rather than after a night in storage. The animal is chosen free of the clear defects the scholars mention and at an accepted age. Cutting is entirely your call: whole for a spit, halves, quarters for the freezer, standard Egyptian cuts, or small pieces ready for a pot. Most Aqiqah orders in Cairo are split into a share the house cooks, a share for relatives, and a share given to the poor; we bag those shares separately and can take the charity share to a mosque or a family you name instead of delivering it to you. Boy or girl: what the scholars say
The majority view is two equivalent sheep for a boy and one for a girl, while some scholars permit one for a boy as well. The order flow lets you book either, because this is a family's decision and not ours to make. Many scholars describe the Aqiqah as a confirmed Sunnah, offered in gratitude to Allah for the newborn, and mention the related Sunnahs of naming the child, shaving the head and giving charity. The seventh day, and what if it passes
The seventh day after birth is the preferred day in the view most families follow. If it passes — a difficult birth, travel, a baby still in hospital — some scholars mention the fourteenth or twenty-first day, and others allow it at any later time. Practically, this means a missed seventh day is not a lost Aqiqah. Give us whichever date you have settled on and we plan the slaughter around it; the order flow accepts all three of the commonly mentioned days.
Dividing the meat
The family may eat from the Aqiqah, gift part of it and give part to the poor — there is no fixed mathematical split that everyone agrees on. What matters practically is telling us the division before slaughter, because dividing a prepared carcass later means opening bags in a kitchen. The most common instruction we receive in Cairo is cooking-ready pieces for the house, an untouched quarter or half for relatives, and a share sent directly to people in need without passing through the house at all.

A large share of Aqiqah orders come from Egyptians living in the Gulf, Europe or North America, arranging the slaughter for a baby born abroad or for relatives in Cairo. The process is the same, and the video is the part that matters most: you see the animal and the preparation, and the meat goes to the address or the household you name in Cairo. Payment and confirmation are done online, and everything after that is arranged over WhatsApp with one person, in Arabic or English.

Is the baby's name required to book?
Yes. The order flow asks for the baby's name because the Aqiqah is recorded and mentioned for that child, and because it keeps your order clearly separate from every other booking on the same morning.
How many sheep for a baby boy?
The majority view is two equivalent sheep for a boy; some scholars permit one. Both options are available when you book, and we do not push either — it is a family decision, and a trusted scholar is the right person to ask about your case.
Which animals qualify for an Aqiqah?

Can the slaughter be on the seventh day exactly?
